Built to Last

In this ever-changing landscape of society, it’s not surprising that nothing ever lasts anymore these days.

I am in this predicament right now where I still cannot grasp how something so consistent and beautiful crumble and become something so uncertain in just a short amount of time.

I can blame myself for all the things I could have done, or the words I could have said to make the current situation different, but in reality no one could have predicted this. And right now, I can’t help but question the idea of having something permanent in our lives.

“How can you grow anything enough for it to be strong enough to outlast the conspiracy of time?”

And then as if the universe is trying to tell me something, I hear this song entitled Built To Last by Meleè. Forever seems like a cruel lie, but I am reminded to stay optimistic and believe that some things can still last. Now that I think about it, maybe they do and they can when we don’t allow time and other factors around us, rob us of the courage to never stop seeking for permanence.
